SUSTAINABLE WEAR FOR THE UNTAMED

About Us
Coastal Rider is a fully independent, slow-fashion brand founded in 2024 by designer and creative Rebecca Engdahl. Scandinavian design is combined with western influences, beach-wear and feminine functionality to create unique pieces suitable for every part of life.
Our items are sustainably and ethically produced in small batches in Portugal, by the most talented artisans available. Read more about our factory here.

Our goal is for Coastal Rider to be much more than just a clothing brand - we want to see it become a large community of likeminded young women, empowering each other, going on adventures and experiencing the world together. This is why we've created Coastal Rider Club - a members club for the untamed, for which we host events and adventures in nature. Sign up here.
The idea of Coastal Rider came to me in the spring of 2024, while I was living in Australia. Building my own brand has been a dream of mine ever since I was 9 years old and watched the movie "Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale". In that movie, Barbie's aunt is a designer in Paris, with her own fashion house. I remember feeling completely amazed by everything in that film - and after watching it, I said my dream was to become a designer.

The dream has lived on thoughout my whole life, but the older I got, the more distant it felt. There is something about getting older that takes away the magic fairy dust from our childhood dreams. Suddenly, I thought to myself that only influencers or famous fashion people could run successful clothing brands, so there's no point in even trying.

Luckily, something changed when I left school and started travelling/living abroad in early 2022. I met incredible people, and had new experiences that led to me believing in my childhood dreams again. I realised anything is actually possible, as long as you really give it your all.

After a career in photography, digital marketing and event planning, I wanted to finally create something where I get to do everything I love at the same time - which resulted in Coastal Rider. I am now starting my 24th year in this life, living a lifestyle true to who I am, and designing clothes for girls just like myself. It is such a dream come true and I am so grateful for it all - and very excited for what the future holds.
